INTRODUCTION

Sahyadri Hospitals Ltd. has decided to work on and is developing; Models of Community based Health cover Services for various age groups and economical conditions.

The senior citizen scheme is proved as a Revolutionary; because it is understood to be the first of its kind, in the whole country. The enrolled person gets much more than his payment towards the scheme which is just unbelievable.

While working on this scheme we had a dialogue with many of the sr. citizens wherein they gave a feed back that they wanted these services close to their residence. In 2006 as Sahyadri Specialty Hospital, Karve road was the only hospital, providing such services it was not practically convenient for everybody to avail the services. Sahyadri has now come up with its branches in various parts of the city and the scheme is becoming Self-sustaining.

The increase in footfalls of the sr. citizens and off course because of great services offered to them, their family members also visit here. Our hospital is directly benefited and it has generated tremendous "GOOD WILL" & "TRUST".

The sr. citizens and hence the society is benefited OBVIOUSLY!!

Sahyadri Hospitals Ltd. started Senior citizen scheme with Pune Municipal Corporation in 2006 for two years. After that it had tie up with FESCOM for one year and for last two years Sakal Papers Ltd. is involved for this corporate social responsibility.

Today the said Senior Citizen Health welfare Scheme is popular in society as Sakal Sahyadri Suraksha Kawach. In last 5 years more than 60000 senior citizens have taken benefit of the scheme. Under the scheme, discounted OPD benefits are also given, along with IP services. Everyday about 100 patients take benefit of these at all units of Sahyadri in Pune.

FACILITY / SCHEME

The very unique features of this scheme are:

1. No Pre-existing disease condition like other policies; as the person with existing ailments can also join and avail the treatment.

2. As you would be aware, no health cover is available for new entrants above the age of 60 years. Here there is no 'Upper age limit'; any person above the age of 50 years who fulfills other criteria can join.

Because I was availing Senior Citizen Scheme, I saved lot of money in Hospitalization, Medicines, Various types of Blood & Other Neuro Tests. I thus saved Thousands of rupees.

I am really grateful to the Hospital Management, for running Senior Citizen Scheme. Even after age of 72 years; I can avail it, which is not possible in any Insurance company. Further I want to mention that, I get the OPD discounts on my regular check ups & medicines, which is just a recurring saving for me. I wish that every Senior Citizen should avail such facilities.
